Residency and Reviews

"Returning for the second symposium was chamber musician and piccolo pedagogue extraordinaire, Lois Herbine. With her opening workshop on "The Elements of Musicality" Lois examined the phrasing philosophies of William Kincaid and Marcel Tabuteau, legendary principal flute and oboe of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Hailing from this tradition, and with her excellent language skills, Lois offered one valuable nugget of insight after another during the masterclass sessions."
&mdash Nancy Nourse, Flute Focus magazine, January 1, 2010

Lois will be returning to the International Piccolo Symposium in the summer of 2011 to instruct beside piccoloists Dr. Christine Beard (USA) and Lior Eitan (Israel). A review of the 2009 International Piccolo Symposium with Lois, Christine and Jean Louis Beaumadier (France) is written by Toronto auditor and piccoloist Nancy Nourse for New Zealand's international trade magazine Flute Focus. Visit the official website for information and for the link to a Flute Talk article by auditor and freelancer Abraham Gonzales Jr. on Lois' residency at the first International Piccolo Symposium with Dr. Christine Beard and Nicola Mazzanti (Italy).

Advent Flute Choir participation is open to all private students ninth grade and older and to certain younger students who demonstrate readiness. New this season is once a month participation in adult flute choir. Fees vary, email for information.
